Waddington Traverse / Slow Traversing
2026 · Expedition planning and analog storytelling
Slow Traversing is a human-powered field project focused on a planned journey through the remote Whitemantle, Waddington and Pantheon ranges of coastal British Columbia. The aim is to combine extended mountain travel with a deliberate approach to documenting the people, places and experiences along the way.
The project uses 16 mm and 35 mm photography and Super 8 film alongside maps, field notes, route information and physical expedition artifacts. Working with analog media encourages a slower, more intentional process of recording the journey as terrain, weather and conditions shape what is possible.
Beyond any single expedition objective, the goal is to build a visual and physical archive of human-powered exploration in the Coast Mountains, with work intended for film, print, editorial and digital platforms.
